Pauline Oliveros  is a composer, performer, and educator based in Kingston, NY.  She travels widely to present her music and Deep Listening.  Currently she is the co-artistic director of the Pauline Oliveros Foundation, Inc., Distinguished Research Professor of Music at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and Darius Milhaud Professor at Mills College.

She makes it happen at the "Happen'ns" with her innovative workshop:

DEEP LISTENING: is a practice created by Pauline Oliveros to enhance her creative work and to engage with others.  It comes from her childhood fascination with sounds and her work in concert music with composition, improvisation, and electro-acoustics.  Deep Listening is connecting with the universe of sound and processing what one hears.  In the Deep Listening Workshop, we will do some listening practice and a sound piece with voices, and process the experience with partner feedback and group discussion.
